Project coordinator: Mark Calrissian
From military installations to domestic shelters, a wide range of defensive measures were taken in Brislington during World War Two. Perhaps because these sites are relatively recent, their value to the archaeological record is often underestimated. This is an opportunity to gather all that is known about this period in Brislington's history with a view to recording and (where possible) safeguarding its heritage for future generations.
In April 2010 BCAP accepted a kind invitation to view the remains of an Anderson Shelter. The report is available as a free download (3.6MB).
If you have any information to contribute about the history of this period, including old photographs, memorabilia, and memories, etc, or are interested in helping find out more about it, please contact the project coordinator, above.
