Contribute exhibits
In 2010 we received funding from Brislington Community Partnership to exhibit artefacts that help tell the story of our community - these can have been found in, or come from Brislington. We photograph and display exhibits here (all for free), and of course you keep your items.
We will ask whether we can include your name in the information about the exhibit, and also how much we can say about where it came from. We will not publish this information without consent, although we do urge people to be as forthcoming as possible as this assists us in building up a clear idea of the history and archaeology of our neighbourhood. We aim to create a resource valued by local people and professional archaeologists alike. Please contact us without obligation.
Comment on exhibits
If you can add more detail to an exhibit's description, or see something that should be changed, contact us. In this way we can ensure the museum is continually improving. Please contact us with your thoughts.
Tell us of other finds
If you find something that's alredy in the museum, we'd still like to know about it. We will add a note to our maps showing where items for different time periods have been found. These 'distribution maps' can reveal where peopled lived in the medieval, Roman, or stone ages, for example. So every scrap of information and every single find is relevant. Please contact us to share yours.
Spread the word
Mention us to friends and neighbours - many people have interesting items without realising it.
Archaeology helps the whole community understand and appreciate itself.
